So I think I finally understand what Tumblr is.
I didn’t come here for a while because I thought this was some kinda place for people with projects, to show off their works and such. Turns out lots of people are on here so that wasn’t entirely true. I thought it was some journal you keep about stuff, but journals are mostly pointless in this day and age. Then I thought it was some kinda forum. Definitely not enough discussion going on to be one of those.
So I finally understand, it’s 4chan with names. Possibly more along the lines of Reddit I guess. People post funny pictures or whatever made by you or not, everyone likes you, and everyone else reposts it. It’s Reddit/4chan for groups of people and friends lists. Maybe it’s a bit more like facebook without personal information. Either way, I don’t think I’ll be spending a great deal of time here.
The posts I see here are the stuff I see everywhere. When something cool gets made, it’s like a wave through the internet. The original splash is hard to trace but it’s going to ripple to every corner of the pool and probably even bounce backwards a little bit. My point is browsing here is the same as browsing all those other forums I visit, guess I just can’t say I’m too impressed.
